SAM HILL WINS WORLD CUP ROUND #5
Quebec - Sam Hill regained his top spot as he took the win for Round #5 of the World Cup series, placing Greg Minaar in second place as Steve Peat held the 3rd spot. With his win, he ragained the leaders jersey which Minaar grabbed at round #4. At the same time Hill topped in the points as he also won in the qualifying round earning the maximum 250pt for the round.

YEAR FOR GEE ATHERTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WIN
Trentino, Italy - Gee Atherton captured the gold medal for Great Britain (GBR) as he won in the Mens Elite category of the MTB World Championship at Trentino, Italy. Atherthon rides for Commencal Bikes, but represents Great Britain for this race same with country-mate Steve Peat of Santa Cruz Bikes (GBR) who nervously waited in the hot seat and expecting to
finally grab the Championship as Sam Hill (AUS) washed on the ground after his mega drift, losing his big time advantage as he clocked-in miliseconds only to Peat, But unfortunately Atherton who is the fastest qualifier and the final rider to go down the trail, reached the finish line with 3:13.12, 2.62 seconds faster than Steve Peat, leaving him (peat) with the Silver medal.
On the Womens Elite DH, Rachel Atherton (GBR), registered the fastest time of 3:49.92, beating last year's champion, Sabrina Jonnier, pinning jonnier in 2nd place. Josh Bryceland also registered the faster time in the DH Mens Junior.
For the Mens 4X event, Rafael Alvarez de Lara Lucas of Spain (ESP) dominated the course. Also, Melissa Buhl of the USA grabbed the top spot against other competitive Czech female riders Janah Horakova and Romana Labounkova who settled in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In the Mens MTB Cross-Country race, Christoph Saucer (SUI) won the gold, followed by country-mates Florian Vogel for silver and Ralph Naef for the bronze medal.
